If you look at Streamside Studios Merry Christmas Deer Digital Stamp Set, you will notice our exact image is not there. That’s because we took elements she already had designed, and put them together. That’s what’s fun about digital stamps. Buy the set once but rearrange into a different layout every time!
We wanted our Grain Direction to go across the card, not up and down the card. More like a sky would appear in nature. We used short grain but you could use long grain and just turn your image sideways when you print. That’s one of the many beauties of Real Wood Paper. If you want the grain going in the other direction, just turn the sheet and there you go!
Once the digital stamp scene was printed on the Aspen Fleece Back, we used our Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color in the image. It’s surprisingly easy to use colored pencils on wood. A gentle hand applying multiple layers of color can really pop on a piece of wood.
When the digital stamp scene was colored to our satisfaction, we cut out the scene, layered it on a piece of black cardstock and then a piece of Aspen Wood Back. All cut with a standard crafting paper cutter and glued with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.
